In June 2015 she sprained her right ankle. She recovered in time to compete at the 2015 Parapan American Games in Toronto, ON, Canada, two months later. (toronto2015.org, 13 Aug 2015; canoe.ca, 18 Jul 2015)

She was in a coma for five days in January 2015 after suffering an epileptic seizure during an aerobic power test on a stationary bike. (canoe.ca, 18 Jul 2015; lapresse.ca, 02 May 2015)

She was sidelined for six weeks after cracking her ribs in a heavy fall at the 2011 Parapan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. She also damaged the meniscus and another ligament in her left knee in the fall, as well as injuring her shoulder and neck. (Athlete, 22 Apr 2012)
