"I got into swimming because my brothers used to swim, and there is a medal hanging in our living room. So, when I was little I said, 'Mum, I want that too.' I swam until 2018. Then I did not want to do it anymore, but I still had the goal of winning a medal at the Paralympic Games. So, I looked for a sport where I could achieve that. She was born with proximal femoral focal deficiency [PFFD]. "Since birth, I have had PFFD type C to my right leg. I wear a prosthesis or use crutches. My parents knew before I was born that my femoral head and acetabulum were shortened, which is why my thigh is so short. When I was about two years old I had an operation to stop my lower leg growing, so that the prosthetic supply would be better later, because the lower leg would have grown to the same length as my healthy leg."
