She transitioned from Para cycling to Para canoe in 2015, at age 48, and began the sport at the Daniel Rowing Centre in Tel Aviv, Israel. She was originally involved in able-bodied gymnastics from age 10. Following her accident she took up Para swimming after moving to Israel and aimed to qualify for the 1992 Paralympic Games in Barcelona, but quit the sport due to a lack of funding. She returned to sport at around age 40 and would compete in Para rowing at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, Para cycling at the 2012 Games in London, and Para canoe at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. "It's just because I love it. I just love to push my limits a little bit further. I'm always trying to be better in what I do. And, actually, life. I didn't want so much to change sport, it just happened this way for many reasons. Sometimes for financial reasons, that's why I dropped the handcycling, because it was so, so expensive I couldn't afford it." (sportspromedia.com, 02 Sep 2016)

"My mantra is, 'Slowly, slowly. Fast, fast'. I do everything slowly, my way, trying to do my best every day in training, every paddle, every stroke, and then we'll see what happens." (sportspromedia.com, 02 Sep 2016)

General
JOURNALISM CAREER
She took up swimming as part of her rehabilitation and was invited to join the Israeli national team with the aim of competing at the 1992 Paralympic Games in Barcelona. Without a full-time salary, she quit the team prior to the Games and for almost the next 20 years worked as a journalist and documentary maker, producing 'Three-Hundredths of a Second', an award-winning film on the Israeli Para swimming team at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney. "I was very young, and I was too poor to be an athlete. I had to work and earn some money for a living. So I had to quit. I wanted to go to the Barcelona Paralympic Games in 92, but I wasn't able to do it because I didn't have a penny. I had to work. That's how I became a journalist." (jta.org, 12 May 2013; jpost.com, 02 May 2014; sportspromedia.com, 02 Sep 2016)

AUTHOR
In 1999 she released a book titled 'Oline, le dauphin du miracle' [Oline, the miracle dolphin]. The book tells the true story of the bond between a dolphin and an Egyptian boy with a hearing impairment. (pascale.org.il, 2016)

REPRESENTING ISRAEL
Born in France, she learned of her Jewish heritage at age 13 and later volunteered for the Israel Defence Forces [IDF] when she finished her school studies. "When I had my accident at age 17, I had this dream of coming to Israel and being an Israeli and I decided that this was a good moment to do it." (haaretz.com, 11 Jul 2012; sportspromedia.com, 02 Sep 2016)
