COMEBACK FROM RETIREMENT
She returned to competitive Para athletics in 2015 after deciding to retire from the sport in 2013, having graduated from Rikkyo University in Tokyo, Japan. The performances of Japanese Para athletes Saki Takakuwa and Tomomi Sato at the 2014 Asian Para Games in Incheon, Republic of Korea persuaded her to change her mind. "In 2012 I was afraid to run 100m as my sight was deteriorating. Moreover, my main event, the T13 long jump, was not going to be included at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio. At that time I just wanted to take a break from competition while thinking about my life after retirement. However I felt motivated again after watching Para athletes who I had competed with at the 2009 Asian Youth Para Games in Tokyo."
