When she was at high school she asked permission from her father to participate in sports. In 2008 she was spotted by coach Mudassir Baig while competing in the Inter-District School Games. He offered her the opportunity to be a member of the national team for the 2009 Asian Youth Para Games in Tokyo, Japan.
