Start:

Reason:

He wanted to continue competing in sport after his injury. He first tried wheelchair basketball through Adaptive Sports Iowa but realised it was not for him. He then tried Para powerlifting and discus before deciding to focus on the javelin. "This is not for me [wheelchair basketball]. So I said, 'Hey, what else is there?' POSITIVE TEST
He tested positive for the banned diuretic torsemide at an out-of-competition test in January 2020. The United States Anti-Doping Agency [USADA] determined he had ingested the substance unknowingly, without fault or negligence, as the substance was found to be present in permitted oral prescription medication he was taking. As a result he faced no sanction, and because the sample was taken at an out-of-competition test, there were no results to disqualify. (usada.org, 11 Mar 2020)

After graduating from DeVry University with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 2020, he began studying for a master's degree in business administration and marketing at the same university in 2021.
