She was inspired to take up the sport after watching the 2012 Paralympic Games in London but she could only begin the sport in 2016 after taking part in an Ottobock 'run + play' sport camp for people using prosthetic limbs. She trained with German Para athlete Heinrich Popow at the camp, and was immediately attracted to the sport. "[Watching the 2012 Games in London] was the first click. I finally realised that I was not alone. Shortly after, I inquired about the equipment, their shape, their resistance, their availability on the market. But then I immediately realised that acquiring was not just a matter of willpower, let alone a few cents. I quickly liked it [when she first used a running prosthetic in 2016]. As crazy as it sounds, it was the first time I ran in my life, at age 15. I felt free." (lemultimedia.info, 10 Dec 2020; plusport.ch, 07 Jun 2018; plusport.ch, 01 Dec 2017)
