He first discovered Para sports in 2004 when he watched the Paralympic Games in Athens on television. The same year his family moved to a new city, which inspired him to look for a sports club. "I searched the internet and wrote to a coach that I found. I told him I was big, sporty and have just one hand and wanted to go to Beijing for the Paralympics. At the time I did not know that I was writing to the national coach. But he wrote back and said 'Yes, come by and we will have a look'. That is how it started."
