Her sister Najat El Garaa competed in the F40 discus and shot put at the Paralympic Games in 2008 and 2012, claiming a total of one gold and two bronze medals. Her other sister Laila El Garaa competed in the same disciplines at the Paralympic Games in 2004, 2008, and 2012, winning one silver and one bronze overall. Her brother Mohamed has also represented Morocco in Para athletics, winning bronze in the F40 javelin throw at the 2006 World Championships in Assen, Netherlands.
