EARLY DAYS
He was given a chance to compete at the Russian Federation national championships for the first time when he was in 11th grade at school and the selected athlete had to withdraw due to illness. "In the 11th grade, my first coach, Mikhail Rybu, travelled to villages to recruit children who were gifted in sport. At that time, an athlete who was preparing to represent the region at the national championships fell ill. The coach suggested that I go to the competition instead of him. I thought about it, agreed and my parents were supportive." (csi-ugra.ru, 29 Jul 2020)
