She was invited to try the sport by coach Amit Kumar Saroha. "I had never thought about sports. I was always more into academics. That's the only thing I focused on all my life. Initially, I found training quite challenging because of severe quadriplegic disability. Also, along with my job, it was difficult to take out the time for practice.
