INJURY COMEBACK
She considered quitting the sport during the early part of 2019 after fracturing her right foot and losing her financial support from the Chilean government. She decided to persevere following encouragement from coach Sebastian Alarcon Marchant and guide Rodrigo Machado Hamilton. She believes she made the right choice after winning bronze in the T11 1500m at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru. "I feared I wouldn't reach the Games for a number of reasons. But the moment I was on the starting line, I was happy to be there, to feel that I had overcome the infinite obstacles I encountered along the way. I feel happy for the bronze medal I won. I really carry it like a gold medal in my heart." In 2020, she said she expects to retire from competitive sport after the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
