She took up the sport at age 24 at the Olga Havlova Business Academy in Janske Lazne, Czech Republic. (Athlete, 21 Aug 2021)

She met an archery coach while playing wheelchair floorball during her rehabilitation, and he encouraged her to take up the sport. Due to her impairment she found it difficult to use a recurve bow, but later met Czech Para archer David Drahoninsky, who recommended she try a compound bow. When she began using a compound bow she enjoyed the sport immediately. "Archery is a good sport for disabled people, and after I tried to shoot I realised it's the right sport for me."
