The Brisbane swimmer hated the pool when he first started as a junior. 'I didn't want to get in the pool - I was just hugging my mum's leg. But after seeing my brother and sister go through the competitive stage, I fell in love with it.'

Finished 6th in 100m freestyle at 2019 WCh. He liked football as a child and took up swimming at age 11. 'It occurred to me when I was 12 I had to decide whether to play football or swimming.'
Finished 36th at 2021 European Ch, 46th in 2018. In other events - finished 4th in 4x200m free relay at 2019 WCh. Silver in 4x200 mixed freestyle relay, bronze in 4x200 free relay at 2021 European Ch. He was sidelined for six months with mononucleosis in 2015.
