General
FROM SPAIN TO CROATIA
After playing water polo for 15 years for Spain, he switched allegiance to play for Croatia in July 2016. "Croatia's interest came from before 2013; in fact, since after the 2012 Olympic Games in London and they wanted me to play with them. Rafa Aguilar [the Spanish coach] had me, and I wanted to play the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona. Then the new coach [Gabi Hernandez, from February 2014] talked to me, and decided to continue to play me in the 2014 European Championships in Budapest. The following summer we missed out of the world championships and Gabi told me he did not need me. It was in October 2015. Croatia asked again and now I have been able to make the change. I am very happy." He has dual citizenship, gaining a Croatian passport in 2013. (lavanguardia.com, 19 Jul 2016)
