General Interest

General
TOKYO DREAM
After missing out on travelling to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with her father Gyula [who was competing at the Paralympic Games in Para shooting], she took the opportunity to improve as an athlete with the hope that both the pair can attend Tokyo in 2021. "While the others travelled to Rio and then took their well-deserved rest after fourth place, I focused on my training and built 4-5 pounds of muscle. I have improved in all areas." (24.hu, 09 Feb 2021)

THOUGHTS OF PLAYING ABROAD
Since making her senior club debut in 2011/12 she has only played for one club, Dunaujvarosi FVE. "I am very proud to have been born in Dunaujvaros. I am lucky because women's water polo is good here as we nurture young water polo players, that's how I became a member of the national team. I would never go abroad without a better team. My plans are that I would like to try myself abroad, but since the virus [COVID-19] and with the Olympic Games postponed until 2021 it's important that I don't waste any energy. In my heart I don't want to play for a different team than Dunaujvarosi. But we'll see how life develops later." (eurosport.hosszabbitas.hu, 02 Jul 2020)

POSTPONEMENT HELPS RECOVERY
After she suffered a finger injury during the semifinals of the 2020 European Championships in Budapest, Hungary, in January 2020, she felt she may have missed her chance at making the Olympic team for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Due to the Games being postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she saw the extra year as helpful to regain her fitness. "It's no secret that I've dedicated my last four years to the Tokyo Olympics. In the beginning [of the pandemic] I was affected so badly because I was afraid [the Games] wouldn't be postponed but cancelled. So on the other hand I think I'm even in a lucky position to have a previous injury where in a year I can and will be a better player." (nemzetisport.hu, 16 Nov 2020; origo.hu, 23 Jan 2020)
