As a teenager he considered giving up volleyball to continue his studies and pursue a career away from sport. "I realised that I would make a career of volleyball around 2011 or 2012. In 2011 I was called up to the youth national team and in the following years I hesitated about continuing playing. I did an entrance exam for administration and I passed easily.
