RETURN FROM INTERNATIONAL RETIREMENT
She retired from international competition in 2016 having missed out on selection for both the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. She decided to return to the Brazil national team in 2019 after encouragement by coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes, and she also says the birth of her daughter Alice inspired her. "After Alice was born, I had a maturity, which gave me an incentive, because my biggest dream was to be a mother. I want my daughter to see me on the Olympic podium."
