BREAK AND RETURN
She took a break from the sport in 2011, before returning to volleyball the following year. She then took a second break following the conclusion of the 2015/16 Korean V-League season, returning to volleyball to join Korea Ginseng Corporation [KGC] ahead of the 2017/18 season. "In 2011, I wasn't mature enough as I just wanted to play more. However, in 2016, I had difficulties adapting to the team [Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass]. During my break I didn't watch any matches. But when I began watching matches again at the end of the 2016/17 season, I had many regrets and wanted to play again. In June 2017 I received an offer from Seo Nam-Won, then head coach of the KGC, and I said, 'Yes' without hesitation." (thespike.co.kr, 23 Aug 2017; star.ohmynews.com, 23 Jan 2018; seoul.co.kr, 11 Jun 2020)

CHANGE OF POSITION
She originally played as a wing spiker, but was encouraged to switch to the libero position due to her height after joining Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass in 2007. She played both positions for a number of years before deciding to focus solely on the libero position ahead of the 2017/18 season.
