He was assistant coach at Belgian men's club Noliko Maaseik for the 2005/06 season, before taking up the head coach role at the club between 2006 and 2012. He has also served as head coach at Turkish men's club Ziraat Bankasi Ankara [2012-13], Polish men's club Transfer Bydgoszcz [2013-15], French men's side Tours VB [2015-16], German men's side VfB Friedrichshafen [2016-19] and Italian men's club Sir Safety Conad Perugia [2019-21]. He was head coach of the German men's national team between 2012 and 2016, and of the Belgian men's national team from 2017 to 2018. He also coached Belgian beach volleyball pairs Liesbeth Mouha and Liesbet Van Breedam, and Liesbeth Mouha and Katrien Gielen.
