General Interest

General
CAREER PATH
She decided to pursue physical therapy as a profession as it has played a large part in her athletic career, and she wishes to help others in the same way. "As a competitive gymnast, I enjoy the freedom of movement every day, and marvel at our ability to push the boundaries of the human body. Furthermore, as a gymnast, I have had to fight back from injuries, often with the dedicated help of an amazing team of physiotherapists. Thus, I want to be a physiotherapist so I can help people lead active and pain-free lives." (med.ubc.ca, 31 Aug 2016)

MEDAL MOTIVATION
After high school she planned on quitting the sport to enrol at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, Canada. She changed her mind after she won a medal at the 2011 World Championships in Birmingham, England, and decided to attend the University of British Columbia due to its proximity to the training facility and its human kinetics programme. (gymcan.org, 10 Oct 2017; thephoenixnews.com, 15 Apr 2015)

HIGHER EDUCATION
She earned a bachelor's degree in human kinetics from the University of British Columbia in Canada in 2015, and a master's degree in physical therapy from the same university in 2018. (LinkedIn profile, 28 Apr 2021)
