MOTHERHOOD
In 2020 she took a break from tennis to become a mother. Her son Charlie Hugo was born in December 2020. In 2021 she spoke about returning to training and the effect motherhood has had on her. "I have definitely changed, I am learning new things. My priorities have changed and my baby is the most important thing for me now. I am trying to learn to live more calmly, I have always had a busy life, but now I have to slow down, to sit down, feed the baby, and have this peaceful energy for him." She said that in her opinion returning to tennis after giving birth is more difficult for doubles specialists than for singles players. "As a singles player you can make your decision at the last moment to withdraw, or even to travel to a tournament and try to play, and if there's something wrong, you can retire during a match. In doubles I don't want to make plans with a partner and then stand her up if my body doesn't take training well. I don't want to return unless I am certain I will not be standing a partner up."
