HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
When she first started training with the British taekwondo team and moved to Manchester, England, from Wales, she and her mother lived in the family caravan because she was only 14 years old. "I was too young at the time to even live in the houses that they had. So my mum and dad came up with this silly idea that we could live in this little touring caravan. My mum left her job in a college and moved up to live with me in the caravan, while my dad and sister stayed in Wales. At the start, it was really fun as it was like a permanent holiday. It was amazing. But then it started getting like, 'Oh my gosh, I am living in a caravan'. We lived like that for 18 months, until I turned 16 and I could move into athlete accommodation."
