EARLY DAYS
At age 12 he and his family moved from Zadar, Croatia, to Zagreb, Croatia, where he began more serious training. "At age 12, I came to Zagreb from Zadar and for that I will be grateful to my parents for the rest of my life. My brother was starting university at the time, so he also came to Zagreb and our parents didn't want to leave us alone, so we all moved together and it changed our lives." He says that not being selected for tournaments early in his career was a source of motivation and helped him develop. "I have to say that my journey was not easy. It happened that I was the best on the ranking list, but I was not going to the tournaments, because I was not selected. I was quite underestimated, but I think that this made me an even better player as I realised that only with hard work I can go far." (24sata.hr, 24 Apr 2020)
