TATTOOS
He kisses the tattoo on his right forearm after each victory as a tribute to his mother, who died when he was one years old. The tattoo features two roses, his mother's date of birth and an inscription which reads, 'I will never forget you'. He also has another tattoo on his right arm that depicts a labyrinth surrounded by a clock. "[The meaning] is complicated. The clock represents several stages of my life. There is also a smiley face, the word 'peace', a crown, the Chinese character for family, and my religion's cross. FROM GUADELOUPE TO FRANCE
Born in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe, an overseas department and region of France, he moved to mainland France with his father at age eight to develop his table tennis skills. SUSPENSIONS
In 2018 he received a six-month suspension from training at the National Institute for Sport, Expertise and Performance [INSEP] in Paris, France, due to bad behaviour. In 2020 he was prevented from competing at that year's national championships and fined 1000 Euros after withdrawing from the final match of a national circuit tournament against Alexandre Robinot, who also withdrew from the tournament and received the same sanction.
