He took up the sport at age seven in Berat, France. (nrpyrenees.fr, 29 Mar 2021)
:
He began playing the sport when his father bought a table tennis table. "My father played tennis so I began with tennis at age four and continued playing until age 10. At the same time I began with table tennis at age seven. Actually, my father bought a table to play in the garden with my brothers. From age seven to 10 I played both tennis and table tennis. And I think that at age 10 my parents were just fed up of so much commuting to training and asked me to choose between them. I chose table tennis and so far I do not regret it."
