The 2020 Games in Tokyo will be the Czech Republic's second Olympic appearance in the 4x100m freestyle relay. They first took part in the event at the 2004 Games in Athens, where they recorded the 13th-fastest time in the heats and did not qualify for the final.

In 2019 the Czech women competed at their first world championships in the event. They did not manage to make the final, finishing with the 11th-best time in the heats.
