She qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo through the 2021 US Olympic team trials. Speaking in January 2021 she remembered that she did not follow the previous trials in 2016 as she was still learning to swim rather that training seriously at the time. "It wasn't until just recently that I even knew how close I am [to making the Olympic team]. Four-plus years ago before [2016] trials, I was still just taking lessons. So, now to be in the talk about being a possible Olympian in 2021 or 2024 is nerve-wracking, but also so exciting." (usaswimming.org, 22 Jan 2021)
