"When I was 14, I followed the others to play water polo. I had a good time, the company was good, but I lacked competition. Finally, I went back to swimming because I loved it much more." (24.hu, 06 Jun 2019)

Competing in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. (swimmingdad.com, 06 May 2019)

"All individuals have their own race they love the most, the tactics they use for that specific race, the way how they get ready for it, both before the training and before the race itself, when it's most important. As I've met many top swimmers from different countries, I realised that we are all different. This is why I believe swimming is exclusively 'an individual race'. Of course, you cannot do it without the support of the others, such as family, coaches, friends, etc. However, you're still the one who has to do the thing right." (swimmingdad.com, 06 May 2019)

DUAL CITIZENSHIP
He was raised in Senta, Serbia, and previously represented Serbia in swimming, including winning a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly at the 2017 European Short Course Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. He began representing Hungary in 2019. "My father is Hungarian, and I am a Hungarian citizen, we agreed that this is what I want. Ever since I took swimming seriously, this is what I want. I'm glad I came to Gyor, where all the pieces of the puzzle are in place. The integration went well, then the races, everything worked out really well. I know this is a very sensitive issue, but I feel I have made a good decision when I listened to my heart. And now I am very happy."
