He married his wife Zsofia in 2018 and says it was tough at the beginning to balance the sport and family life. "I got a little bit crazy, I got married, I wanted to have a home, I wanted to be with my wife, and there were also other activities within the federation, so I got distracted from swimming. Before anyone misunderstands, my wife supports me in everything, helps me, and strengthens me to continue, but it's not good for me that I am barely home. We had to figure out something else. So then my coach Peter Nagy allowed me to only train in the morning, so I would have more time at home. Everyone should be aware that anyone who chooses top sports will need a lot of sacrifice and not always as be as bright as they look from the outside. But whoever has that dream and really wants to take it all in, will probably be worth it, the end. By this I mean not only the title of Olympic champion, but also the development of a happy and relaxed family background. For me, they are on the same level as an Olympic gold medal."
