MENTAL TRAINING
At age 14 she started working with sports psychologist and former swimmer Joanna Budzis. In 2021 she talked about how working with Budzis helped her with pre-race nerves. "Our method is not trying to get rid of the stress, but embracing it. Embracing the fact that it is going to hurt, because that's sport. No pain, no gain." She has to balance the demands of being an athlete and a high school student. "There is always some catching up to do, some assignments I turn in late.
