VOLUNTEER COASTGUARD
He says volunteering with Her Majesty's Coastguard in Sutton Bridge, England, allows him to relax alongside his shooting commitments. "For the past few years it's been shooting, shooting, shooting. Now [2018] I've got this feather in my cap, it's relaxed me massively, helped my shooting and it shows in my performances. Being involved in elite sport, the coastguard gives me rest and relaxation from that. I just love helping people. It brings everything back into perspective." He joined the coastguard following a motorbike accident in 2014, which made him consider retirement from the sport. "At the time [of the accident] I didn't feel like there was a big issue. It wasn't until my parents and partner, now wife, said I might lose my leg that it brought things home to me. After the recovery, I was really struggling with performance and looked at retiring so when the position with the coastguard came up, it seemed a great thing to do." FAMILY BUSINESS
He owns The Priory Clay Target Centre in Sutton Bridge, England, and also offers coaching. "The range is my workplace, but it's also my retreat and it provides a bit of normality. I get to coach and help juniors develop to become contenders and get people involved in the sport. It's somewhere I get to combine everything I love, but it's not for me, we have Great Britain athletes train here and it's a place for the community too."
