Her brother Sam Meech has represented New Zealand in sailing, and won bronze in the Laser class at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Her partner Nicholas Heiner has competed in sailing for the Netherlands, and won silver in the Finn class at the 2019 Class World Championships in Melbourne, VIC, Australia.
