Her father Jim Maloney coached her and Molly Meech at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Her brother Andy Maloney has represented New Zealand in sailing, and won silver in a Finn boat at the 2019 Class European Championships in Marsala, Italy.
