LIVING IN SPAIN
Due to the political and social instability in Venezuela and a lack of financial support from Venezuelan sporting authorities, he moved to Spain to support his windsurfing career in 2015. "I quit my Olympic dream and migrated to a different country because life in Venezuela was not sustainable. When I migrated to my grandparents' country, Spain, my Olympic dream was almost over, and then I found ways to keep fighting for it once again. The most difficult part of my career has been trying to live in Europe without help from anyone. I'm saying this from the bed I have in my van. The most difficult part is getting by. I worked in a McDonald's where I would be until 23:00, when it closed, where I would do the cleaning and try to get some overtime. I worked in a low-cost sports shop and at the weekends I worked at a sailing club teaching kids. That's how I got by and I could compete with an old boat. I plan to get in the best shape possible for the Games, and try to get support for the upcoming events and materials. I wanted to prove to myself that I could achieve this goal."
