PARTNERSHIP
In 2011, at age 13, he began sailing in the 420 class with fellow Irish sailor Sean Waddilove. The pair moved to the 49er class in about 2016 and were aiming to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris before the rescheduling of the 2020 Games in Tokyo to 2021 made them rethink their goals. The pair secured a quota spot for Ireland ahead of Tokyo 2020 at the 2021 Lanzarote International Regatta in Spain. "We are absolutely delighted, an unbelievable feeling to take this next step. The whole week we just focused on the processes, didn't really think about the result too much. We are still on quite a steep learning curve so we will take everything that we get and do our best," Dickson said.
