Previously a volleyball player, she went to Witold Dudzinski, the Polish national sailing team doctor, for a medical check up. He mentioned that her physique was suitable for sailing and suggested she change sports. "I knew that with my height I would never go to the Olympics as a volleyball player. That was a good reason to switch to sailing." (informatorbrzeski.pl, 02 Aug 2012)

"The most important thing is to enjoy sailing. Second of all, you have to sit down and read some books to learn the theory of sailing, because it's extremely useful. Thirdly, you have to work hard, but don't spend millions of hours on the water. Work sharp and short, just do what you have to do and go back home to recover and study meteorology and sailing. These three things will guarantee success." (Polish Sailing Association YouTube channel, 15 Feb 2021)

FROM POLAND TO AUSTRIA AND BACK
She represented Poland at the 2012 Olympic Games in London with crewmate Agnieszka Skrzypulec, but after splitting with Skrzypulec she was offered the chance to team up with Lara Vadlau of Austria, and subsequently switched to represent Austria from 2013 onwards, including at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In 2017 she switched back to representing Poland, teaming up with Skrzypulec once again. "After the London Olympics, I was looking for a chance for further development. But the Austrian stage is behind me. I am representing Poland again and I am very happy. I've always felt Polish. There was a moment in my life that I even thought about ending my career. But I thought that as long as my health allowed me, I would continue sailing, and I hope to compete at the Olympics in Tokyo. They will probably be my last Games. I started my adventure with sailing as a Polish woman and I want to finish it this way."
