General Interest

General
NEW ZEALAND TO AUSTRALIA
He competed for the country of his birth, New Zealand, in sevens at youth level, and captained the U19 national side. In 2016 he moved to Australia to compete with rugby union [15-a-side] club the Manly Marlins, before being spotted by the Australian national sevens team's coaches while playing for Australian National Rugby Championship [NRC] side the Sydney Rays. He gained Australian citizenship in September 2019. "I was contacted by Manly and asked to come across and play in the Shute Shield. Eventually I came over to play in a sevens tournament and check out the club to see what it was like. I loved it so much straight away and thought it was the place to go. I've never looked back." (rupa.rugby, 14 Nov 2019; rugby.com.au, 2019)

OTHER ACTIVITIES
He is a qualified personal trainer and had worked in the profession until he began playing rugby full-time."Personal training is something I truly have a passion for. I love helping people and helping to change their lives for the better, but I always dreamt of being a professional rugby player and once I got the opportunity to show my wares in front of the people that mattered, I was determined to make it." (rupa.rugby, 14 Nov 2019)
