He has served as captain of the Argentinian national rugby sevens team, including at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and considers himself a veteran in the team. "More than anything we [the veteran players] try to transmit confidence, lower the anxiety a bit, which increases as the tournament gets closer. That's the role the veterans have, to set the pace and guide the lads who are starting in these types of experiences." PRIORITISING RUGBY
He admits it can be difficult to balance the commitments of everyday life alongside the demands of the international rugby schedule. "During the season, which goes from October, when training begins, until [the following] August when there is a tournament that ends the World [rugby sevens] Series, it is very difficult to do other things. We travel a lot, we are away a lot and if we're not at a tournament, we are training in Buenos Aires. It is hard to play for the clubs [rugby union], having a job is practically impossible, also studying. I am still studying to be a public accountant after many years [speaking in 2018], but I've been working on my degree gradually. The satisfaction is infinite. I always say we are privileged to be able to do what we love to do and make a living from it. We represent our country and we get to know a lot of other countries.
