In June 2018 he injured his right shoulder during a match against the United States of America at the 2018 Paris Sevens tournament. He underwent surgery and was sidelined for the 2018 World Cup in San Francisco, CA, United States of America. He returned to competitive action at the 2019 Punta del Este Sevens tournament in January of that year. He injured the medial collateral ligament [MCL] in his knee at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He sustained the injury twisting his knee after being tackled on the way to scoring a try during the opening match against the United States of America, and missed the remainder of the tournament.
