Since 2014 he has served as the Irish Rugby Football Union's [IRFU] director of women's and sevens rugby.

He has served as the general manager of rugby sevens at the Australian Rugby Union [ARU] [2013 to 2014] and before that was the high performance unit national programmes manager at the ARU [2008-2013]. He had previously held positions with the ARU from 1999 to 2002 as head coach with the U21 national team and as a high performance unit manager. He coached the Australian U20 rugby union team between 2009 and 2012. At club level he has coached Australian sides Sydney University [1999 to 2001], ACT Brumbies [2002 to 2004], Queensland Reds [2004 to 2005] and English side Worcester Warriors [2005 to 2007]. He was director of rugby at Sydney University from 2007 to 2008.
