General Interest

General
NAMING ERROR
He was incorrectly referred to as 'Tuivoka' instead of 'Tuivuaka' by television commentators and viewers online during the 2019 Vancouver Sevens tournament. "My real name is Asaeli Tuivuaka and not Tuivoka. Many have confused my name and posted it up on social media. I was embarrassed when I saw people calling me Tuivoka." (rugbypass.com, 20 Jun 2019)

RETIREMENT THOUGHTS
He considered retiring from the sport in 2011, following the death of his brother Mario Senimoli during a training session for the Tabadamu rugby sevens team in Fiji. "I nearly quit rugby. I couldn't finish my year 11 in school, so I returned to the village to help my mother Vitorina Cakaunivalu on her yaqona [kava crop] farm. My father [Elia Atunaisa] also passed away in 2005, so both of them are an inspiration to me. Rugby was always something I was good at so I continued playing and I'm thankful for the gift I have. My brother wanted to play for the national sevens team but never got the chance, so I am completing his dream." (rugbypass.com, 20 Jun 2019; fijisun.com.fj, 18 Jun 2019)
