ROWING ABROAD
She studied urban and environmental planning for two years from 2013-2015 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, United States of America. She began competing in rowing during her second year there. She then switched briefly to the University of California before she moved back to New Zealand in 2015, and began studying at the University of Waikato in 2016. "I was unhappy being away from New Zealand and wanted to come home. I enjoyed the rowing programme at the University of Virginia but I really wanted to compete for New Zealand. I was impatient. I didn't want to wait four years until the end of my degree."
