She began the sport in 2006, at age 13, in Kaliningrad, Russian Federation. (Athlete, 14 Jul 2021)

"Before rowing, I was engaged in karate for six years, I had good achievements and prospects. I received the brown belt, but I didn't achieve a black belt because I quit karate because of rowing. Every year my family and I went on vacation to grandma's in Kaliningrad. And every year, on vacation, I attended the swimming group. In 2006 the pool was closed for sanitation, so there was free time. We lived just near the rowing base near the Pregolya river. There were boats every day, and my friend worked there. So I went there, thinking why not work out on the river in the summer. And so it began. A month later I won the regional competition." (Athlete, 14 Jul 2021)

She has received the title of Master of Sport in the Russian Federation. (olympic.ru, 08 Jul 2021)
