"I started rowing at UBC when I was approached multiple times by members of the rowing team, who were walking around campus and asking tall, athletic people to come and try the sport. I wanted to meet people and stay fit, but rowing has clearly given me so much more than I ever could have imagined." (worldrowing.org, 01 Apr 2019)

"On race day, I try to stay relaxed as I prepare myself physically. Usually, this involves switching back and forth between thinking about the race, and avoiding thinking about the race. For me, my mind is my biggest challenge. I know that it can be one of my biggest assets, but it can also be my greatest downfall." (worldrowing.org, 01 Apr 2019)

While studying at the University of British Columbia [UBC] she was twice named Top Women's Rower at the Canadian University Rowing Championships, in 2015 and 2016, and was named UBC Rookie Oarswoman of the Year in 2013. (gothunderbirds.ca, 25 Sep 2018; ubcrowing.ca, 01 Jan 2016)

General Interest

General
PARTNERSHIP
She first rowed with her women's pair crewmate, Caileigh Filmer, in 2015 in the women's four boat. They started competing together in the pair in 2018 and won gold at the first World Cup meet of the year followed by silver at the third World Cup, before ending their first season together with gold at the 2018 World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She says the pair complement each other well in the boat. "Caileigh has exceptional boat feel, and an obscene amount of aerobic ability in the middle of the race. She is also the most positive person I have ever met. I like to think I bring a long, efficient rhythm to the boat, and a fearless attitude toward racing. We joke that I do the first and last 500 meters of the race, and she does the middle thousand." (cheknews.ca, 06 Mar 2019; worldrowing.org, 01 Apr 2019; theprovince.com, 15 Sep 2018)

OLYMPIC ALTERNATE
She was an alternate for the Canadian team that competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She was not called up to compete at the Games. (gothunderbirds.ca, 25 Sep 2018)
