Her grandfather Dal Grauer won a gold medal with the Canada lacrosse team when the sport featured as a demonstration sport at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam. Her mother Leila represented the University of British Colombia [UBC] at squash, while her brother Angus has represented UBC in field hockey. Her cousins Gordon and Shanlee Johnston have play field hockey for the Canadian national team.
