She was born the day that the opening ceremony for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona was broadcast in Australia, but her mother Theresa says her given name, Olympia, was not chosen because of this coincidence. "We had no interest in creating a connection with the Olympics. We chose Olympia because it was a strong name, and it was sheer chance that the Barcelona Olympics was on at the same time.
