He rowed for Harvard University from 2015 to 2018 and was team captain in his senior year while also studying for a degree in economics. "As a student athlete you learn to balance your time because so much of it is spent on the river. You have to really focus on what you do and how well you do it back when you're in class. You have to be incredibly well organised and it teaches you to handle adversity sometimes. Practices won't go your way, races won't go your way.
