She was discovered by national coach Mariana Malis in Oltenia, Romania. She enjoyed the idea of being outdoors and making new friends. "It was all new to me and I felt like I wanted to give up at the start. You want to win medals overnight, to make the national team, but it takes a lot of work." TOKYO 2020 SUPPORT
In 2017 she was named on the 'Samurai 2020' Olympic programme. The programme was set up by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee [COSR] and offers support to athletes with potential to win medals at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. (gsp.ro, 04 Dec 2017)

OLYMPIC EXPERIENCE
She attended the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro as a reserve for the national women's eight rowing team that won bronze at the Games. She says the experience has helped to serve as motivation to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. "At age 20 I was happy to be named a reserve for Rio. I got to experience an amazing city at such a young age. It remains an extraordinary moment in my short career. It was a honeymoon for me. I felt that we [the reserves] also contributed to a small part of that bronze. Since then I have told myself that in Tokyo I will no longer be on the sidelines, but in the middle of events."
