Her twin sister Arina Averina has represented the Russian Federation in rhythmic gymnastics. She won silver in the individual all-around final at the 2017 World Championships in Pesaro, Italy, and the 2019 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, both events in which Dina won gold.
